Maybe it gets enough sun from it being flat instead of you being able to angle the whole panel so it gets direct sunlight for several hours. Being able to adjust it instead of just mounting it flat.

Very poor design unless you tree or post you are installing the solar panel on s leading at a 90 degree angle the bracket is useless not happy considering the cost My only hope is that the solar rays will bounce off of something else to charge my battery
