HOW IT WORKS

Sezzle is a payment solution that gives you the freedom to buy now and pay later - with no interest!

When you place an order through Sezzle, our unique approvals system reviews your account to determine what sort of repayment plan we can offer. In most cases, it's 25% of the order total due up-front (also called your "downpayment" or "first installment"), with the remaining amount divided up across three more installments, each due two weeks apart. No interest, no up-front or hidden fees. In fact, as long as you pay off your installments on time, there are no fees at all!


Ordering

When your order is placed, Sezzle pays us in full for the order immediately - so we are able to process your order just like if you had paid us in full with a credit card! 

Our checkout is straightforward - simply select "Sezzle" at checkout, and we walk you through the rest of the process.

EX: when you purchase a Spartan Gocam, now you pay $77.49 first installment at checkout and receive your GoCam! Pay $77.49 for the second, third, and fourth installments later instead of paying $309.95 in full up front.


IF YOUR ORDER WASN'T APPROVED

There might be some situations in which Sezzle will Not be able to approve your order:

  • You don’t have sufficient funds available. Sezzle requires that you have at least 25% of the total order cost available.
  • You have multiple orders with outstanding payments.
  • Your order value is too high.


DOES SEZZLE PERFORM CREDIT CHECKS?

Sezzle will not have an impact on your credit – they do not perform hard credit checks. Instead, they perform “soft checks” by reviewing your credit score as part of their risk check.

DOES SEZZLE IMPACT MY CREDIT SCORE?

Sezzle does offer an upgraded account called Sezzle Up with a feature to build your credit, access to your limit, and a boost, as well as exclusive in-app merchants.  At this time, Sezzle does not report activity to any credit bureaus for users not enrolled in Sezzle Up.


WHY WAS I CHARGED A FEE?

$5 Fee - Rescheduled Payment Fee

When you reschedule your payments on an order for the second or third time, a $5 fee is added to your next upcoming payment. Since Sezzle will notify you of the fee before you reschedule your installments, there is not a way for you to remove the fee. Learn more about rescheduling here

$10 Fee - Failed Payment Fee

If Sezzle isn't able to process a payment (often either because a card expired or there are not sufficient funds within the account), a $10 fee is added to that payment. However, this fee can be waived automatically if you successfully pay off the payment within 48 hours of the failure. Learn more about failed payments here.


HOW DO REFUNDS WORK WITH SEZZLE?

All refunds are applied to outstanding payments first, beginning with the final payment. The amount of that payment will either be reduced or canceled, depending on the amount of the refund.

If the refund amount is greater than the amount outstanding, Sezzle will cancel the installments and the remaining amount will be credited back to your original payment method. Please allow up to ten (10) business days for your refund to appear on your statement.

Full Refunds

When the full amount of the order is refunded, we cancel all unpaid installments on the order, and refund any amount the shopper had paid. We also send the shopper an email letting them know about their refund. 



Refunds are always sent back to the original payment method that was charged on the order - this is an industry standard. While refunds usually post back to their original payment method within 3 business days, it can take up to 10. As long as you see the refund in your "Refunds" tab, you've properly issued the refund and there is nothing further you need to do.

Example: A full refund is issued on a $100 order. The shopper has only paid one installment of $25. The shopper's other three installments ($75 total) will be canceled, and $25 will be credited to their original payment method.

Partial Refunds

We consider any refund amount that isn't the total order amount to be a partial refund. When a partial refund is issued, we first will cancel or reduce any unpaid installments, beginning with the final installment. If the refund amount is greater than all unpaid installments, a refund will be sent to the shopper's original payment method.

Example 2: A $95 refund is issued on a $100 order. The shopper has only paid one installment of $25. The shopper's other three installments will be canceled - but as those installments only equal $75, a $20 refund will be credited to the original payment method.
